Andrew Disharoon

BioPharma Technology Manager

Andrew Disharoon is the BioPharma Technology Manager at the Zucker Institute for Innovation Commercialization, where he supports MUSC’s mission to translate innovative biomedical technologies into impactful solutions for public health. Andrew works closely with MUSC’s faculty, clinicians, and researchers, identifying promising biopharma technologies and guiding these innovations from concept to commercialization. His responsibilities include evaluating technologies for clinical benefit and market potential, coordinating intellectual property protection, and fostering collaborations between inventors and industry partners.

Before joining the Zucker Institute, Andrew drove innovation as Chief Data Scientist, Chief Technology Officer, and Chief Software Engineer in several medtech and biotech startups. He has also worked with other university TTOs to help inventors navigate the intellectual property pathway. Andrew received his MS in Plant and Environmental Sciences (Genetics) from Clemson University and his BS in Biological Sciences from the University of Georgia.
